Mahatma Otoo has extolled his former teammate, Thomas Abbey, describing him as one of the best players in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The Hearts of Oak skipper has been in a devastating form this season and continues to play a pivotal role in the turnaround of his side, with his effort being rewarded with the NASCO Player of the Month award for July.
The ex-Hearts skipper was optimistic that the trajectory Abbey has taken would help him achieve more to become the face of the GPL in the coming seasons.
Speaking to the Graphic Sports, the former Sogndal playmaker said he was not surprised at Abbey’s current exploits because he (Abbey) had worked hard over the years and the result was now paying off.
“Thomas Abbey was my friend and my room mate who knew what I was doing and now he has adopted it and is working hard and so today I can confidently say he is one of the best players in the league”, Mahatma noted.
“Football is not about individuals but team work but I am very happy for Thomas Abbey now because he is doing well and I am hoping he can do more than I did for Hearts of Oak”, the ex-Black Satellites skipper predicted.
